About Cinderella's Closet

Our Mission:

Cinderella's Closet of Monmouth County is dedicated to promoting self-esteem among young adults by providing less fortunate high school students in our community the opportunity to attend their prom in style. We seek to raise awareness of the socio-economic differences that exist in the local area, while advocating inclusiveness and diversity. The goal of Cinderella’s Closet of Monmouth County is to ensure that no high school student has to forfeit the lifelong memories associated with attending their prom due to financial hardship.

History:

Founded by two Monmouth County residents, Stephanie Tomasetta and Katie Adams, this all-volunteer, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organization has grown tremendously in just the few years since its inception. With volunteers from more than twelve high schools across several counties, Cinderella’s Closet has helped hundreds of students in need and now possesses an inventory of over 1,200 dresses. Manalapan, Marlboro, Matawan Regional, Colts Neck, Holmdel, Middletown North, Middletown South, CBA, RBC, Ocean, Monmouth Regional, Ranney, Jackson, St. John Vianney, Monroe, Howell, RBR, high school students have been an integral part of the organization’s success with current students eager to carry on its mission for years to come. We not only work with high school students, Home Away From Home Academy, a pre-k and elementary school, has participated by holding several dress drives for us in the past.

Over the years we have also been instrumental in helping ensure special needs groups such as the On Your Mark organization enjoy their own Spring Formal Gala.
